Re: Alaska Democratic Party Response To Ads

In response to many calls and feedback from Alaska voters, the Alaska Democratic Party feels the need to clarify that it is not responsible for an ad currently running that dramatizes FBI agents in a van with surveillance equipment. The Alaska Democratic Party understands that Alaskan’s value their personal privacy and civil liberties. Although the ad is intended to reenact a situation in which legal, court ordered wiretaps were being conducted, we understand that voters who value civil liberties and personal privacy are concerned. Specifically, people have expressed confusion that it looks as if the Democratic Party was wiretapping Stevens home, which is obviously incorrect. Again, the Alaska Democratic Party is not responsible for the ad.
