Legislators question FBI raid tactics

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Alaska’s congressional delegation.

News that Sen. Ted Stevens and Congressman Don Young are both being investigated by the Justice Department for possible corruption, and Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s Kenai land deal sparked a feeding frenzy among the national press corps and unflattering comparisons with Louisiana.

Following Monday’s raid by Federal Bureau of Investigations and Internal Revenue Service agents on his Girdwood home, Stevens was featured on the cover of nearly a half dozen Capitol Hill newspapers, including a sketch of him as the angry green Hulk swatting at federal agents like King Kong in the Politico.
