Ted Stevens Indicted

Sen. Ted Steven was indicted on August 29, 2008 on seven federal felony counts of failing to disclose on his annual financial statements more than $250,000 in gifts he received from Veco and its executive, Bill Allen. The indictment indicates Veco performed and paid for renovating Stevens’ Girdwood home, providing furnishings, property maintenance and a new generator.

Alaska Corruption

FBI agents took 12 boxes of documents labeled “Evidence” from Ben Stevens’ legislative offices during raids that rocked Alaska in August 2006. Specific items named in the FBI search for seizure included garments bearing the logos or phrases: ‘CBC,’ ‘Corrupt Bastards Club,’ ‘Corrupt Bastards Caucus,’ ‘VECO.’”
